OAK PARK, Ill. – State Rep. Camille Lilly, D-Chicago, recently hosted “I’m going to be Seventeen” to speak with young people in the community about the impact bullying has on their lives.

“Over 15 young participants in the community joined me to ice-skate and discuss issues they are facing,” Lilly said.  “It was an opportunity to have meaningful conversations amongst each other, as well as address the issues of bullying.  We also watched a short video on the effects of bullying and discussed how they could set positive examples in the community.”

Lilly spent the afternoon with children from ages 12 to 16 throughout the community to provide a safe space for expressive conversation, valuable connections and access to a variety of resources.

Lilly represents the 78th District, which includes parts of Chicago, Elmwood Park, Franklin Park, Oak Park, Melrose Park and River Grove.
