DES PLAINES, Ill. – Continuing his fight to stand up for public safety within local municipalities, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, was recently honored by the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts with the Legislator of the year Award at their annual ceremony.

“I am honored that the NIAFPD has recognized the work I have put in to help local Fire departments protect and serve our residents,” Moylan said. “This alliance, as well as firefighters from all around the state, is crucial to the safety and protection of our communities.”

The Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts is an organization that is compiled of firefighters representing 79 different local fire protection districts. Moylan was handed the Legislator of the Year award in recognition of his work to ensure that fire departments have the necessary resources to protect and serve their local communities.

“Because of these brave men and women in the fire departments I’m committed to fight to make sure they have the resources and accommodations to help them do their job, and to keep themselves and residents safe,” Moylan added. “I want to thank firefighters from around the state for their dedication and their service.”

Moylan serves the 55th District, which includes portions of Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Elk Grove Village, Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows and Chicago.
